5 Guity Pleasure Songs

If you read this, consider yourself tagged. Hat tip to The Rev.

Five songs I love yet rarely admit to loving:

1. Lynard Skynard - Freebird

Is there anything more cliché than this song? Liking it is proof positive that I am a Southern Boy at heart.

2. Motley Crue – Girls, Girls, Girls

Yes, the one with the litany of strip clubs included in the lyrics. Now I am embarrassed.

3. House of Pain – Jump Around

I’ve already fessed up to this one, but how do I not include it on this list.

4. Dead or Alive – You Spin Me Around

Poppy pseudo-Goth from the 80’s that I can’t enough of.

5. Anything by Tom Jones

He is the king of the smarmy lounge lizards and his music oozes cheesy sexuality. How do you not love it?????? Come on, this is the guy who sang “Sex Bomb”!

  1. Tom Jones is the man, yo. And I love House Of Pain! Jump Around always gets me off my feet.

  2. Aw c’mon–Free Bird rules! *fumbling around for a lighter* and I won’t even put it on the “guilty” list… ;-)

  3. I love that Dead or Alive song. I also like “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. I somehow think that is more pathetic.

  4. Please no Lynard Skynard. How about Neil Young’s Southern man?

LOL I was born in Louisiana so I had my fill of southern rock.
    Nothing like ZZ Topp.

I love your other picks though

  5. Well I hope Neil Young will remember that a Southern man don’t need him around anyhow!

  6. like a record baby.

  7. LP–you beat me to it!!
